Building a development site of approx 50 houses near Gatwick Airport this developer approached the Water Company – because it was what they had always done - requesting a quotation to carry out approximately 400 metres of water mains and 50 service connections. When the developer received the quote he could not believe how much they anticipated his requirements would cost. He debated over what his options were and through simple research quickly found Amjutan. At this stage Amjutan only had the national WIRS qualification (Water Industry Registration Scheme) to carry out the service connections. Amjutan contacted the Water Company which clearly stated on their website that they would work with non-WIRS accredited companies, providing their team held NVQ qualifications. However, Amjutan were told that without WIRS they would not be permitted to carry out the work and these accreditations would take at least eight weeks to achieve. Amjutan were determined that they could achieve this accreditation in a much shorter time frame and proved their tenacity by being awarded the qualification in just under three weeks.
